Made of soft stretch knit with a stretchy waistband and leg cuffs, they fit a bit closer to the body than bloomers but the stretch ensures that baby can still move and shake. The flap is purely esthetic and doesn't open (although I thought it would be interesting if it did). And, for those not familiar with long johns, the flap is for the back.
